What a writing coach will not do

There are some things a writing coach will not do and I will expand on each or them so that there are no grey areas.

• They will not rewrite your material to suit their style or interest

A writing coach will make suggestions about what can be improved but they will never rewrite your work. It is up to the writer to decide if the advice is valid and makes their story stronger, then the writer can implement the advice in the way they believe is best for their story.

• They will not proofread or line edit your work

A writing coach is not looking for spelling or punctuation errors in your work, they want to help the writer they are mentoring as much as possible, which means helping you with the issues you’re most concerned with or the issues they believe are holding you back in your writing.
